Most Popular Questions about My Approach

Mental health is often the result of a lot of hard work. It is not easy being human. I take a holistic approach to mental health and support my clients as persons seeking integration.  It’s about understanding yourself as a person (facing your past, managing your present, and dreaming up a future that excites you). It’s about diet and exercise. It’s about going to bed at the same time every day, and having a purpose of what you want to achieve the next day when you wake up. It’s about taking your meds if you’ve been prescribed them. It’s about good gut health. It’s about having healthy patterns of communication; and healthy boundaries with everyone.

Generally I go for “coffees and walks” with my clients. In these natural settings, we have easy conversation so you can relax and feel comfortable to share your burdens. We walk through problems together and discuss difficult topics. I have a lot of resources (psychological tools, experience, skills, lived experience, philosophical training) to be able to handle almost any topic. I have seen almost everything.

I’m not a psychologist nor a life coach; I’m a private mental health care provider. I’m a philosopher with a lived experience of getting mental health care through all the proper channels like a psychiatrist, psychologists as well as alternative therapies like equine assisted learning, chiropractic treatments and gut treatments. I draw on my philosophical training in problem solving, understanding principles of action, and paths to happiness. If you are looking for answers, I can help you find them.

If I wasn’t Catholic I wouldn’t be able to give as much care and support as I do. The source of my energy and passion comes from Jesus, grounded in the Catholic faith and the Eucharist. Most of my clients are Catholic who have a strong faith in God, as well as a devotion to Our Lady and the saints. It’s good when we can share that. I’m unapologetically Catholic, just like St Vincent de Paul and St John of God.

I support anyone who likes me and wants to enjoy spending time with me. Before I take on any client, we meet for a coffee and a chat or we’ll have a chat over the phone. I can talk about almost anything from what’s the latest in tennis news, to world politics, to environmental issues. As a former journalist, I enjoy asking questions, listening attentively and problem solving. As my services are highly customised to your needs, I will only take on new clients if we both have a positive rapport.
